Fernando Verdasco’s highest ranking on the ATP tour was #7 in the world, tho he currently sits at #23. The Madrid native ended 2010 in the top 10 for the second staright year after reaching the quarterfinals or better in 10 tournaments. In 2011 he reached his 14th ATP final in San Jose (losing in two tiebreakers to big serving Canadian Milos Raonic) and also reached the finals in Estoril and Gstaad. Fernando played doubles in Spain’s semifinal win against France, and Spain will compete in the final against Argentina in December.
