A solid first half of 2010 for the Chinese player culminated in a semi final appearance at the Tour tournament in Estoril in May where she defeated fourth seed Anabel Medina Garrigues in the quarter finals.
Peng had earlier reached the third round at the big Indian Wells tournament in March and the quarter finals at Charleston in April, knocking out top 20 player Marion Bartoli in the process.
However she was forced to pull out of Strasbourg, the French Open suffering from dizziness which also saw her miss the Grass court season.
Her best Grand Slam performance was reaching the third round at the US Open where she stunned 9th seed Agnieska Radwanska in three sets in the second round.
She is coached by Guillaume Peyre and her favourite shot is the forehand and favourite surface is hard court.
