The top half of the 2012 Heineken Open singles draw is being made to wait until Friday to complete quarterfinal play due to persistent rain on Thursday.
After the first match, in which Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany took out second seed Nicolas Almagro, the match between Olivier Rochus and Benoit Paire was suspended late in the second set thanks to rain.
The delay lasted nearly two and a half hours before the match resumed, but fans were treated to a thrilling end to the match as the Belgian came back from behind to snatch the win in a third set tiebreaker.
No other singles matches were able to be completed though Spaniards Fernando Verdasco and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez tried several times to play their quarterfinal. Verdasco took an early 3-1 but play was suspended for the night at 10am. Top seed David Ferrer's match with Alejandro Falla never got started.
Play will resume at 11am Friday morning. Click here for the order of play.
