The 2012 Heineken Open gets underway today at the ASB Tennis Centre with the four remaining qualifying matches and then first round action.
First up on centre court is the Kiwi Artem Sitak who will try to make the main draw but faces a tough test in Frenchman Adrian Mannarino who made the quarterfinals here a year ago.
Donald Young of the US and Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil follow on centre court with their first round matches, taking on Alejandro Falla of Colombia and Rui Machado of Portugal respectively. The night session features Kiwi #1 Michael Venus taking on last year's semifinalist, Santiago Giraldo of Colombia. Top seed David Ferrer finishes night action in the doubles. He'll partner fellow Spaniard Albert Montanes against the Austrian duo Oliver Marach and Alexander Peya.
