AUCKLANDS 50 th ANNIVERSARY HEINEKEN OPEN
WINS WORLD TOURNAMENT AWARD

Auckland's 50 th anniversary Heineken Open held in January this year has been awarded the ATP International Group, Tournament of the Year Award at the ATP International Group meetings held in London during Wimbledon.
Heineken Open Tournament Director Graham Pearce, who accepted the award on behalf of the event says, "We had a superb week of tennis this January at the 50 th Anniversary Heineken Open.
“The award is a credit to the huge effort put in by all volunteers, sponsors and staff and by the public and corporate's who are such fantastic supporters of our Auckland event. A week of fine weather did not go amiss either".
Auckland received this award ahead of all other ATP International Group Tournaments, which are staged throughout the world in anywhere from Russia to Dubai with many of these events having huge resources at their disposal.
For Auckland to receive this award is testament to the power volunteers and sponsors can muster in working together on an event they are all extremely enthusiastic about and is reflected in this outstanding achievement. |
