Heineken Announces Sponsorship Renewal
Heineken have announced today that they have renewed their contract of
New Zealand's biggest prizemoney international sporting event, the
Heineken Tennis Open for a further three years.
Heineken will be the major naming rights sponsor for the tournament's
50th anniversary which will be January 2005.
The world's number one lager has been the naming rights sponsor of the
event for the past six years, including 2004.
Heineken Open Tournament Director, Graham Pearce believes the continued
relationship with Heineken is great for the tournament and the sport.
"It's fantastic news for the tournament Heineken are a superb sponsor, a
global premium brand and the ideal partner for this international ATP
event. This is a significant sponsorship in the New Zealand market and
we are thrilled that they have the confidence to extend the
sponsorship."
Heineken Sponsorship Manager Peter Wills said "Heineken is delighted to
continue its sponsorship of this premier sporting event. We have
developed a very strong, loyal and mutually rewarding partnership with
Auckland Tennis and in particular the Heineken Open.
"We look forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Open next
year," he said.
The popularity of the Heineken Open is shown by the fact that the finals
on Saturday 17 January are sold out.
